In case you missed my previous post on tea parties, I suggest you check that out first. I had only done a tea party with my upper level students before. I wondered, “How does a tea party go with novice learners?” Well today I found out first hand! And as you can tell by the looks on my students’ faces, the answer is pretty darn swimmingly!
They had a great time – and I swear, it wasn’t just because I bought them cookies!

What novel did we do a tea party for?
Every year in Spanish 2 we have a unit on school at the beginning of the year, so of course A.C. Quintero’s La clase de confesiones is the obvious choice for a class novel. It’s set at school, and oh, the drama! The mean teacher, kids on their cell phones, a hopeless crush, a missed text when your phone gets confiscated… Your students will be HOOKED! It is perfect for Spanish 1 or 2.
So, who’s here for some free resources?
A.C. Quintero has approved of me making and sharing these. By the way, if you’re looking for a comprehensive resource for teaching the novel, check out this guide. I hope you and your students enjoy the resources below, which are everything you need to do your own Clase de confesiones Tea Party!

Will you give it a try? Or have you done a tea party before? Drop advice or questions in the comments!

I am definitely considering a tea party.
